The common harmful chemicals present in soaps:

This category contains all the harmful chemicals and strong fragrances also synthetic colors. The soaps are chemically made which for prolonged use can use harm.

Category -2
  • Hamam
  • Rexona
  • Cinthol
  • Liril
This category of soaps contains less number of chemicals compared to category -1 soaps. Also contains cosmetic colors and strong fragrances.

Category -3
  • Santoor
  • Medimix
  • Mysore sandal Soap
  • Chandrika ayurvedic
  • Himalaya herbal
  • Margo
This category of soaps contains just 2-3 harmful chemicals. But has got cosmetic colours and harsh fragrances.

Category -4
  • Lever Ayush

These soaps are therapeutic soaps. These soaps are better than other but lacks the proper information about soap base which they use.

Category -5
  • Patanjali Multani Mitti
This is the soap which is very natural. Patanjali multani mitti does not contain any harmful chemicals, fragrances and no cosmetic colors. Not all soaps from Patanjali are free from chemicals, they even contain chemicals, fragrances and synthetic colours.

Why are these chemicals added??

The toxic chemicals are cheap and available widely. The non-toxic chemicals are way costlier than that of toxic ones. 

Basic tips to buy soap:
  1.  Avoid soaps which have long list of ingredients with names which are difficult to pronounce.
  2. Roughly go through the ingredients, choose the soap which has oils, leaf extracts, herbs.
