Know your Toothpaste

Come lets checkout the crazy ingredients present in your toothpaste. Lets compare different toothpastes.

 

Category -1

•   Colgate
•   Pepsodent 
•   CloseUp  

   These category contains the most commercial brands in India. In Indian household the toothpaste is referred to as "Colgate". These are the toothpaste which contains some extremely harmful.

The Sodium Lauryl Sulphate(SLS) is one of the harmful chemical

This SLS makes our tongue taste bitter after brushing. SLS also causes skin irritation and mouth ulcers. SLS has been registered as insecticide and is used in detergent.

These toothpaste also contain Fluoride in very small amount. The mouth is highly absorbent, so the chemicals lurking in the toothpaste get fast track into our blood stream.  If the fluoride is so poisonous(present in large amount), then regular brushing with a fluoridated toothpaste can harm in long run. These also contain the preservatives.

Category - 2 

• Sensodyne

This toothpaste does not contain any harmful ingredients. But contains Fluoride. These toothpaste contain preservatives. This will be less harmful than category- 1 toothpastes.

 

Category - 3

• Himalaya's Sparkling white

 This toothpaste does not contain any harmful ingredients. Also does not contains Fluoride. Will be less harmful than category- 1 and 2 toothpastes.

  

Category - 4

•  Dabur Meswak

 The Meswak has all the harmful ingredients. This does not contain Fluoride. Apart from SLS, also contain another extremely dangerous chemical called "Triclosan". Triclosan is linked with breast and testicular cancer. These toothpaste contain preservatives. 

 

Category - 5

• Patanjali Dant Kanti

This is the good option but contains the fluoride. Also made with herbal ingredients and has no artificial colours. But contains the preservatives. 

 

Category - 6

• Lever Ayush 

This the whitening toothpaste with rock salt, does not contain any harmful chemicals. Contains the herbal ingredients. This is also a non-fluoridated toothpaste.Not all toothpastes sold by the Lever ayush are non-fluoridated.

 

Category - 7

•  Dabur Red

 This toothpaste is the herbal toothpaste without any harmful chemicals, No fluoride content and no artificial colours. The best option amongst. But contains preservatives.

 

 Category -8

•  Vicco Vajradanti

This is the best toothpaste which does not contain any chemicals, fluoride and artificial colours. It is the perfect blend of 18 Ayurvedic herbs and barks. Safe for kids. Very budget-friendly compared to commercial brands.
